Project Update Summary

Along this journey I have definitely seen so much progress over these past six weeks and I am so excited to see what other changes are going to happen! I have lost 7 pounds, which is definitely progress. I have saved a lot of money, definitely progress! Some of the challenges that I have faced are wanting to go and get fast food in between classes or on my way to work almost everyday but I have been able to fight that urge. Also, not being able to make it in time to the gym or not having enough time to workout, has always been a challenge.

I have overcome these challenges by staying positive and integrating some home workouts when I cannot make it to the gym. Also, I have been making my own meals or having my mom help me make my meals for the week. I plan on continuing this process until I cannot. Throughout this journey, I plan to do the same things and when I start to plateau, I will find new things in order to stay motivated!

A week before Thanksgiving…OH MY GOSH

This week I have worked so hard in order to be able to eat a great amount of food next Thursday on Thanksgiving. I have worked out five times this past week, while wearing my waist trainer and staying active during my free time. This has allowed for extra time to myself and I have definitely been able to focus more on my health and well-being. Today, I weighed myself and I can happily say that I have lost 7 pounds from the beginning of this new journey! So happy to say that I am on the right track to staying a healthy individual.

Well, I have plateaued…

After these past five weeks of changing my habits and saving my money, I have now seen that I have plateaued in my workouts and my eating habits. The food that I have been eating has been the same every other week because it has been the easiest to make. Foods such as hot dog with eggs for breakfast, turkey sandwiches for lunch and the grilled chicken for dinner. I need some new recipes…any ideas?

How can I get out of this plateau? What are some things that I can change in order to become motivated like I was in the beginning? Time to find new things that will benefit my health and well-being.

It is finally November!

November means THANKSGIVING! 20 more days until I can be around our dining room table with my entire family. This past week I was able to get into the gym for about an hour and a half (3 days). I personally like to mix up my workouts, whether it be in a gym setting or out on the football field at school. Being able to mix up my workouts keeps me motivated to continue this healthy lifestyle that I have chosen to live. Working out and eating healthy has been a challenge for myself but I am glad that I have done so!

Next week will be a new journey!

Saving $$$

MONEY, MONEY, MONEY! After these 3 weeks of cooking my own meals, I could successfully say that I have definitely saved about $200. This has been a very successful change for myself because by eating healthier I have been able to get a lot more hours of sleep than usual. Getting some more sleep was one of my goals and I can say that I have received more hours. I plan to continue this cycle as long as I can!

Another week down, puuuuuussssshhh through!

WOOOO! I got through another week of this challenge in becoming a better version of myself! Last week, I did not get to workout out as much as I had wanted to but this week I made it more of a priority. With working four days out of the week and going to school four days out of the week, I started to wear my waist trainer almost everyday for about three hours a day. By wearing this waist trainer I have felt a difference in my body (GOOD DIFFERENT). Also this week I grilled some chicken and bell peppers and paired it with some steamed sweet potatoes. This was a very good meal and I will definitely be making this again.

One step closer!

After my first week of this new change, I can successfully say that I have made many of my own meals and only spent money on one restaurant meal! This a big thing because I would normally eat four times a week at the restaurant that I work at. These meals would include chicken fried rice, spicy wontons, dumplings, green beans, and broccoli. The price for two items is normally around $12.00. Thankfully, this has not been much of a change which I am enjoying! Alongside of this, this week I did not meet my mark of working out 3 days a week but did do a lot of walking around. Next week is my week to workout!

Welcome to my journey!

Well, let’s just say that this week is the beginning to my new journey to save some money and lose some weight. Along this journey, I have promised myself that I would workout 3 days a week and only eat out once a week. When first starting college, I did not have enough money to go out and eat all the time. After completing my first year, I got a job at a Dumpling House and now that is where I eat 5 days out of the week. I want to be able to change this behavior by making my own meals at home and consuming food from the restaurant only one time out the five days that I work there. This is going to force me to not eat my favorite type of for but it will be the best decision for me.

Let’s see how this goes!
